Skinny Guy Bodybuilding Progress – August 2009

August 2009 Update – I am now up to 81kg (178lbs) which is up 4kg since my last video. Have added a little fat during my bulking progress, but this will be easy to cut later on.

My goal is to bulk to about 85-87kg (190lbs) before doing a cutting diet to lose some fat.

My diet has been the biggest challenge, as I am a hard gainer.

the 4kg I have gained since my last video is a result of the usual training plus – The bulk of my diet has consisted of:

– Oats, Sweet potato, Brown Rice
– Chicken, Lamb, Steak, Fish
– Whey Protien
– Eggs eggs and more eggs… 36 whole eggs per week
– Lots of fresh raw Greens
– Lots of fresh fruit & vegetables
– Fish oil, coconut oil, Nuts, Seeds
– Creatine Monohydrate (micronised)

My main/specific muscle goals (other than growing in general) is:
– Prioritise my Lats, they are lacking behind a lot
– Rear delts (coming along much better now)
– Abs thickness

    WwAste, gaining fat is an unfortunate side effect of building muscle quickly. I am currently dieting to lose the fat and maintain the muscle I have built. If i was to build muscle while staying lean the whole time, my 1 year transform would have taken much longer.

    Thanks ahoonman, great comment.. Helps me motivated to knowing I have motivated some people! I’ll have more videos soon, my progress has halted a bit (Hovering around 83kg) so have to start to add in even MORE calories, ahh!! My next videos will be of nutrition.. like gainer shakes, and foods to gain muscle.

    I usually add eggs raw into my morning shake… No debating about food poisoning ok! It works for me – quick and easy protein from free range eggs. I do cook them sometimes too :)

    I have a teaspoon creatine before & after training.

    I take Whey Protein Isolate with 1-2 bananas straight after my workout. I also add WPC to my morning shake with:
    – 250g Bananas
    – 20g Whey
    – 20g Goji Berries
    – 20g Chia seeds
    – 1 cup raw spinach
    – 3-4 Whole Eggs

    (total ~45g protien)

    Around 2800 seems to be enough to bulk at the moment… some days up to 3000 if I stop gaining weight.

    Love the improvements.. Way too much of this stuff on youtube is catered around competitive body building and a lot of mass.. I like this video because it’s more of what I want to achieve.. To go from skinny to a nice size without the bowling ball sized muscles..

    How much whey and how much creatine do you take, and when do you take them ?

    The foods I ate are in the description. The only suppliments I took was Whey (WPI) and Creatine sometimes. Other than that, eat lots of quality Carbs Protiens and Fats, all whole foods where possible
