Why are most commercially marketed fruit juices made from concentrate?

I have concerns about buying juice reconstituted with tap water from toxictown, usa. Isn’t the water naturally filtered by the tree(plant) itself best.

Long storage life and easier transport are two very good answers. Yes, the water they use to reconstitute is usually "triple filtered" tap water. So most of the toxins are gone. It is reasonably safe water.

Here’s one more: MOST of the "concentrated apple and grape juices" you see on the label of juices marked "100% Juice" is misleading. Yes, this concentrated product originally came from juice; but it has has nearly all the fruit components removed, and has been de-ionized, so that most of what’s left is sugar water; then it’s concentrated. Cheap, easily stored and tranported sugar water. But legally, since it was derived from juice, it can be called juice. It adds no flavor when reconstituted; so you see it in all kinds of juices that you wouldn’t associate with apple or grape juice; and does not change the flavor of what is boasted on the label.

The only time you can be reasonably sure of what you’re getting is when the label says "not from concentrate".
