The twelfth revelation in the Book of Questions in which Christ speaks to his bride, blessed Birgitta, and tells her that she should not be troubled by the fact that he does not immediately do justice in the case of a man who is a great sinner. For he defers the sentence of justice in order that the justice to be done in this case might be manifested to others. He also says that his divine words in this book of the Heavenly Revelations must first grow to full ripeness and bear fruit and, afterward, produce their effect and force in the world. These words are like oil in a lamp, that is, in a virtuous soul, in which the soul is steeped and made to burn and shine with a wonderful splendor with the coming of the Holy Spirit. He also adds that the words of the revelations shall first rise up and bear fruit elsewhere than in the kingdom of Sweden, which is where they began to be divinely revealed to the same bride.

The Son of God speaks: “Why are you troubled because I put up with that man so patiently? Do you not know that it is a grave thing to burn eternally? I put up with him therefore to the very last moment so that through him my justice might be manifested to others. Wherever dye-plants are sown, if they are cut down before their time, they cannot be used for dyeing as well as when they are cut at the proper time. My words, which are to be manifested with justice and mercy, should in the same way grow and bear fruit until they are fully ripe, and then they will suit the object to which they are applied better and will color my virtue suitably.

But why are you troubled because that man does not put trust in my words without having the evidence of clearer signs? Did you give birth to him or do you know his inner life as I do? This man is indeed like a lamp that burns and shines. As soon as tallow is added to it, the wick joins and sticks to it. He is thus a lamp of virtues, a lamp fit to receive my divine grace. As soon as my words are poured into him, they liquefy fully and penetrate into his inmost heart. Is it any wonder that the tallow liquefies when there is a fire burning in the lamp that liquefies it and keeps the lamp burning?

Rising food prices due to heavy snow in China give farmers extra money and consumers an added burden.

For most Chinese people, at least in cities, the recent surge in food prices has been less than appealing. But here at one of the country’s biggest wholesale vegetable markets, many see a silver lining.

STORY:
Everyday, thousands of truckers and even more farmers gather at Shouguang’s sprawling complex of open-air warehouses. They bring their produce from near and far then transport the goods further north in the mainland.
And there’s good news for these merchants as of late. National inflation, snow, and a bigger demand for food ahead of the New Year gives these people more bargaining power, and more money in their pockets.

Guo Mingqian is a manager at the market.

[Guo Mingqian, Manager, Shouguang Wholesale Market]:
“Most of Southern China is having huge snow at the moment. The trucks for delivering vegetables are not able to make it here because of the snow. So we have a lot less trucks in this market getting vegetables to us. This leads to the rising of prices.”

The farmers, traders and drivers at Shouguang can count themselves lucky. The town has been spared the snow-inflicted chaos seen in provinces further south. The weather has destroyed crops and cut off roads there.

If anything, the fact that many trucks have not been able to deliver produce here has given a boost to local farmers, as it has shrunk the overall supply.

Wang Wankai owns a greenhouse in Sanyuanzhu village. He says if vegetable prices weren’t going up in general, he wouldn’t be able to afford a greenhouse like the one he has.

[Wang Wankai, Greenhouse Farmer]:
“If I grow vegetables, I make about 50,000 to 60,000 yuan a year. This is 10 times the income of growing grain. So growing vegetables is much more profitable and my living conditions can go up more rapidly.”

While vegetable prices grew nearly 29 percent in the year to November nationwide, those for meat and poultry were up close to 39 percent.

Those items together have been responsible for much of the surge in overall consumer inflation to the fastest pace in over a decade.

Sandomierskie informacje rolnicze – Agrobiznes z 11 marca 2009. To miał być “czarny piątek”. Miał, ale nie był. Tuż przed wprowadzeniem przez Ukrainę 13%-wych ceł na nasze owoce całe zastępy ukraińskich poszukiwaczy jabłek robiły ogromne zakupy. W środę Sandomierski Rynek Hurtowy opuściło 150 TIR-ów wyładowach po brzegi jabłkami. W czwartek drugie tyle, to absolutny rekord świata, słychać komentarze. Nadszedł piątek i eksport trwa nadal, co prawda na niższym, ale stabilnym poziomie. Wydawać by się mogło, że tak ogromny popyt spowoduje wzrost cen, przynajmniej minimlany. Tymczasem stawki ani drgnęły. Od października ceny jabłek wzrosły zaledwie o 10 groszy za kilogram. Tymczasem wzrosły koszty przechowywania i przygotowania owoców do wysyłki. Można powiedzieć że biznes się kręci, ale nikt nie jest zadowolony.

Sandomierz ‘Agrobiznes’ Agricultural News from March 11, 2009. It was supposed to be a “black Friday” but it wasn’t. Just before Ukraine put 13% tariff on our fruits real “hordes” of Ukrainian apple seekers started purchasing. On Wednesday 150 trucks full of apples left the Agricultural Wholesale Market in Sandomierz. On Thursday twice as many. “It’s an absolute world record”, people say. Friday came and the export still continues. At lower level but it’s stable. It would seem that such large demand must had impact on the increase of prices, at least minimal. However the prices are like frozen. Since October apple prices increased only by 10 grosze per kilogram. Meanwhile the costs of storage and preparation for sending have increased. One could say that the business is running but noone is content.

Sandomierskie wiadomości gospodarcze z 23 lutego 2009. Sandomierski Ogrodniczy Rynek Hurtowy przygotowuje się do nowego sezonu. Nowa hala, nowe maszyny i wzrost eksportu – to założenia na ten rok. Nowością będzie też wprowadzenie systemu transakcji internetowych. Sandomierska giełda kojarzy się głównie z dużym placem targowym, gdzie producenci rolni mogą sprzedawać warzywa i owoce. W sezonie przewija się tu około 60,000 pojazdów z towarem. Jednak Sandomierski Ogrodniczy Rynek Hurtowy zarabia głównie na eksporcie. W tym roku codziennie wyjeżdza stąd za granicę 40 TIRów jabłek głównie na rynki wschodnie, przede wszystkim do Ukrainy, a później produkty z Ukrainy trafiają w 90% do Rosji.

New hall, new machines and the increase of export – these are the plans for this year. Introduction of an Internet transaction system will be a novelty, too. The Market in Sandomierz is mostly known for the large market square, where agricultural producers can sell fruits and vegetables. In the season about 60,000 vehicle with trading goods drive into the marketplace. However the Agricultural and Horticultural Wholesale Market in Sandomierz profits mostly on export. This year 40 trucks carrying apples drives overbroad from here everyday mostly to Eastern markets, first of all to Ukraine and then 90% of these products go from Ukraine to Russia.

The 22 billion shilling government economic stimulus program was largely aimed at boosting the country’s economy through identifying key sectors that are under-performing with a view to reviving them. Fisheries is just one of them. Under the programme, the government was to spend 1.12 billion shillings to construct fish ponds in over 140 constituencies. And as Sheila Sendeyo reports, these efforts to seal the yawning gap in fish production may just bear fruit as fish farming is no longer a preserve of lake side communities and is actually catching on with gusto in other areas as well.
