Are canned or bagged fruits and vegetables ok?
Are canned or packaged fruits and vegetables ok to eat if you are on a diet? Sometimes they are more convenient when I don’t have time to cook them. I am looking to bulk up.
Fresh Fruits are wonderful for a diet. Canned fruits are usually lacking the nutrients you really need; and they contain high fructose corn syrup and preservatives which can throw your body off balance.
I would recommend blueberries, strawberries and red grapes as they are extremely high in anti-toxins (help with immune system)
Here is an example of meal planning I recommended to someone else. Maybe it can help you with this question.
If you want to be at the ideal weight, then you can eat well balanced meals at a smaller proportion. Don’t fry your foods; and keep all your vegetables and fruits at their natural state as much as possible.
Drink a full glass of water before each meal and between meals.
Picture a plate – imagine cutting it into sections like a pie. Number them 1,2,3,4 for breakfast, 1,2,3 for lunch and 1,2,3,4,5 for dinner.
Breakfast
Section 1: One egg (protein) cooked in light cannola oil or soft-boiled
Section 2: Ham or lean pork baked
Section 3: Fresh Fruit (melon, strawberries, etc.
Section 4: Slice of whole wheat bread or toast with natural preserves
Drink Milk
Lunch:
Section 1: Tuna with Relish on bed of grated lettuce
Section 2: Slim cottage cheese with 2 tomato slices
Section 3: 1/2 slice of whole wheat bread
Drink Green Tea
Dinner
Section 1: Baked Fish, chicken, or pork (no beef or canned meats)
Section 2: Steamed fresh vegetables (not canned or frozen)
Section 3: Slim Cottage Cheese w/ fresh fruit (not canned or frozen)
Section 4: Raw Spinach Salad w/ Raspberry Vinegarette dressing (no creams)
Section 5: Slice of whole wheat bread
Drink: Green Tea mixed with "Naked" Fruit drink (find it at Walmart or Sams) and/or small Glass of Red wine (Good for the heart)
Good Luck and Stay Healthy!
