What could I use for fruit leather liners for round food dehydrator trays?
I just bought a second-hand round food dehydrator with clear plastic trays. There isn’t a company name/brand on it, just the model No. KN 128, which I’ve already googled.
Anyhow…I want to make fruit leathers/roll-up-type-things and would like to know what I might use in the absence of those plastic fruit leather trays (which did not come with this purchase).
Recipes for fruit leathers also welcomed.
Thanx!
My mom used to make those all the time growing up. She just took saran wrap and wrapped it around the tray. Make sure it’s not loose because otherwise it can blow over your fruit roll up and keep it from dehydrating.
Look at wal-mart. It’s been a while since I bought the liners by I think they were pretty cheap.
If not use parchment paper.

I think you may have the Hottop KN 128 food dehydrator. I can’t find trays made specifically for this machine, but this site (http://www.ksodirect.com/Dehydrator) sells sheets for dehydrator usage. You may be able to trim them to your machine. Otherwise I would call one of the numbers on this site (http://www.juiceproducer.com/dehydrator_hottopstacker.php) and see if they can provide you with an exact fit.

Don’t use saran wrap for goodness sakes…it’ll melt everywhere. Wal-mart sells the trays cheap…go buy the tray. Otherwise, use a silicone baking mat…or something designed for high temps. It gets hot in those dehydrators. I have the trays for fruit leather and have never used them…I’d love a recipe!
