Is Friskies wet food bad for cats?
I started using it because there were so many different flavors. I used to feed him 9 lives, but since it was the same 4 flavors over and over [it came in a big wholesale case] he stopped eating it. When I switched to Friskies he started devouring the food, and it was it sitting out for not even 30 minutes before it was all gone.
Well basically, I get Friskies because it has so many different flavors, and its cheap. My cat doesn’t eat the wet food if it is that pate’ form, only the meat chunks.
Generally, the first 3-5 ingredients in a cat food should be a specific source of meat protein, like "chicken, chicken liver, chicken fat," etc. Your local pet store will have the healthy brands, and they are cost-comparative to low-quality pet food found at Walmart or supermarkets. Your cat will get more nutrition in smaller servings, as well as not need as many costly vet trips.

I don’t think its bad for cats, they wouldn’t be aloud to sell it as cat food if its bad for them.
But my cats and most of my mates cats won’t touch it.
In my opinion i think it is cheap and rubbish, but i would recommend whiskers. O so fishy, o so meaty…
My cats go mad for it.
And science plan biscuits, or whiskers or go cat.

Well yes…and so is 9 lives. You need to look for a foodthat does not use animlal by-products and you want one with meat as the first ingredient. Any pet food you can buy at a grocery store is bad. read pet food labels and avoid products that contain unidentified animal products. Avoid products that contain ambiguous-sounding ingredients like animal fat, animal tallow, and animal by-products. Instead, look for products that contain only human-grade, known meat sources like lamb, poultry, beef and chicken.

My cat loves Friskies. They have all different textures and flavors but my cats will only eat prime fillets. And he does know the difference….but no I don’t think it’s bad as long as they have dry food too.

Oh boy,you hacked Jr.off.Stay away from the cheap food.You will
be dealing in higher vet bills plus a shorter life span because of
obesity.
Go to an independent pet store for a suggestion of some good food.
Mine like Wellness.

i think its safe for cats why would they sell it at the store if it was not mabye it would make your cat fatter but dont feed too much of that stuff because then your cat wont like dry food that much and will be use to wet food

Friskies is not the best food on the market. We used to feed it (with other brands) but my one cat got a UTI and Friskies was part of the problem.
We now only feed (in canned) – Wellness, Natural Balance, Max Cat, Iams, Blue Buffalo foods (sticking to chicken, beef, lamb, and venison only) – NO fish.
He has not had a reocurrance since!
